Welcome to the Carl Gellert and Celia Berta Gellert Library!

Welcome to the Library! If you're new to Notre Dame de Namur University, or just the Library, you've come to the right place to get started. This tutorial will help you develop the skills you need to get the maximum benefit from all the Library has to offer you in your coursework and research, from orientation to graduation. To start, just click one of the links below.

  • Finding Books
    How to use the Library's catalog and where to find our electronic books (e-books). The Library uses the Library of Congress Classification in organizing its physical collection.
  • Finding Articles
    The Library subscribes to over 300 print periodicals and a number of full-text databases providing an additional 20,000 electronic journals.
  • Using the Web for Research
    The World Wide Web can be a great resource for your research, depending on the information for which you are looking. Keep in mind that what is searchable via popular search engines such as Google does not provide all of the information you need.
